“Decked out in studded leather, with looks that kill
The way she moves to metal gives us all a thrill
Her wiles on overload
We’re ready to explode
She is a Metal Woman
Demon in the sack
Ready to attack”
“Metal Woman” by 3 Inches of Blood
“Metal Woman” is a song by Canadian metal lords 3 Inches of Blood (also know affectionately as 3iOB) that appeared on their 2012 album Long Live Heavy Metal. Great minds alike have wondered just who the mysterious Metal Woman is that Cam Pipes so passionately sings about in this song. Who is this metal woman? Who is this woman that is a “demon in the sack, ready to attack?” Well Over The Top Metal News was present at a recent 3 Inches of Blood show in Vancouver where we learned first hand that this metal woman is none other than Sarah Palin.
Our Canadian correspondent Ludovic Tremblay was on hand covering the show when Ms. Palin herself walked in taking the crowd by storm as she made her way to the stage like a viking sword cutting through the neck of an enemy sporting a vintage 3iOB shirt. After the show Ludovic tracked down Ms. Palin and asked her about her history with 3iOB and if it’s true that she is indeed the “metal woman.”
“Oh yeah this is true.” said Palin with sly giggle. “You know… the singer Cam? Well yeah. I mean, him and me we go way back, you know? Whenever Todd would go out of town with his boyfriends to do oh who the hell knows what, I would have my friends over and we’d sit out on the back porch and crank up Fire Up the Blades while shouting at Russia. We can see Russia from my back deck you know. I then started going to Canada to see the shows so I could keep a low profile. Sometimes I would bring Bristol (Palin; daughter of Todd and Sarah). Mr. McCain really encouraged me to do this but to keep it on the “DL” as the kids say. I just found Cam (Pipes; vocalist) to be so moving with all that leather and those spikes and that beard. Oh my where was I oh yeah. The band’s music just makes me move and makes me do things in a very liberal, almost Republican fashion if you know what I mean.”
When asked about the line “Demon in the sack, ready to attack” Palin just grinned and said, “You know, that part may have been about Bristol but you never know with these crazy guys. You’ll have to talk to Justin (Hagberg; guitarist) about that one, yeah ok but I’m sure the rest is about me you know.”
Bristol Palin couldn’t be found for comment but we were tipped off that she may have been hanging out at rehearsal space watching Helix work out some new tunes.
