In a shocking discovery by undercover Over The Top reporters, it has been confirmed that former 3 Inches of Blood lead vocalist Cam Pipes is indeed the voice behind King Diamond. Back in 2005, after damaging his throat while digesting a human fetus, Danish metal legend King Diamond needed someone to step in fill the void. It needed to be someone with a powerful set of pipes and a range that could summon hounds from afar. That person ended up being none other than Vancouver metal vocalist Cam Pipes. Since then, Cam Pipes has been the man behind the curtain, literally, as the voice of King Diamond.
Pipes recently told Over the Top Metal News:
“So King Diamond needed a replacement voice since his voice wasn’t working anymore, eh? It took me a while to get all the melodies down and what not but I think I managed to pull it off for a good while. It’s a bummer that you guys found out about this but I’m just going to keep on doing it. As a matter of fact, on this upcoming King Diamond tour I’ll be there. Just ask a roadie or something to pull the curtain back and you’ll see me back there with my lyric sheets, room temperature water, and a microphone.”
Cam Pipes joins the ranks of “singers behind the curtain” such as Robert Mason who sings for Ozzy, Tim “Ripper” Owens who sings for Rob Halford, and a dying dog who sings for Whitesnake vocalist David Coverdale.
King Diamond himself has yet to comment. Stay tune for more.
